Message & Music On Hold

Captive Audience Awaits Your Pitch

Wouldn’t it be great, if every day you came to the office, you would have the opportunity to present your product or service to a room full of people already interested in your product or service? And, it would cost you nothing to do so?

With most people reaching your company by phone, you already have this opportunity. Whether you receive 50 calls a day or 500, Free advertising is available to you now with an on hold message and music recording.

Consider this, just 50 calls a day can generate 77 hours of Free advertising every year. What is that worth to you?  How many more widgets could you sell with over three hours of Free advertising every day? 20 percent more?

AT&T conducted a survey in 1998 that revealed every 1-in-5 callers took action based on information they heard while waiting on-hold. 1-in-5 callers – that’s 20 percent.

When you call a business to inquire about a product or service that you are interested in buying, your mind is open to any message from that business because you want that product or service to fill a need or solve a problem. When you consider this, isn’t it likely your callers feel the same way when they call your business?

With an on hold message and music program that features promotional information about your company, you control what your callers hear and enhance your company’s image.

On Hold Player Options (Phone System)

Most phone systems have a music on hold input (normally labeled MOH or Music On Hold). Some are more obvious than others, but we have yet to find a phone system that doesn’t already have a input or some sort of connection already established.

There are two options for playing your on hold message program:

CD Player – this is the least expensive option. In fact, a small Walkman style CD player is all you need. You can purchase this from any electronics store for under $100. Just make sure it comes with an A/C adapter, as many CD players of this size are battery only, and a repeat button. A CD player, for the most part, works fine, but there are two drawbacks: One – CD players were not meant to be on continuous play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and with moving parts will most likely breakdown at a year or less. Two – the repeat button doesn’t always stay on and your message program will stop.

Digital Message Player – this is similar to an mp3 player. Your on hold message and music program plays continuously with no moving parts. Prices vary.

Send The Right Message To Your Callers With Customized On Hold Messages

Pretty much all of us hate being put on hold. But what makes it even worse, is being put on hold and waiting in total silence. We have posted the studies here… most people abandon their call after 40 seconds or less.

An on-hold message and music system can help make the wait more bearable for your callers. With a pre-recorded on hold messaging system, your callers can listen to information about your company. The average length of an on hold program is typically three to five minutes.

For the most part, any phone system has a music on hold (MOH) input where you can connect any audio device, such as a CD or mp3 player. Any audio device that plays your on hold message from memory is ideal since there are no moving parts.

With an on-hold messaging system, you can market your products and services to your callers. Information about your company on hold can help stimulate questions and generate interest, which can lead to more sales.

Depending on the type of phones you have and whether or not your office has a phone system, expect to spend anywhere from $400 to $700 for on-hold equipment. Leasing is an option as well. However the low price point and reliability of equipment available today, make a purchase-to-own more appealing.

It has been reported that seven out of 10 callers are put on hold. An on hold message and music system may be the solution for more satisfied customers and increased sales.
